Newcastle University Business School sought to run several Rapid Design Interventions or design sprints with social enterprises as part of their practice-based modules around innovation, enterprise, and sustainability. Virtu Circle was commissioned (as a delivery provider for Impactara).

Approach 🎨

Participants were led through a series of structured collaboration exercises designed to frame the problem, create, prototype, and test potential solutions. To maximise the value of the 3-day in-person sessions and reflect the specific challenges and participants’ growing experience, various elements of the Sprint were adapted, for example, by using pre-recorded lightning talks with subject matter experts and incorporating new elements such as storyboarding.

Results 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Newcastle MBA course leaders Dr Jenny Davidson and Dr Lucy Hatt were delighted with the modules, as were the beneficiary organisations ReThink Food CIC and The Altitude Foundation.
